Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 16, 2026
Scope
This policy covers personal information handled through the Gujarati Community Events section of GujaratiEvents.ca for Gujarati Community Events membership, event registration and enquiries. External websites have their own privacy policies.
Information collected
Depending on the form you use, information may include your name, contact details, address, membership status, membership application details, signatures, waiver responses, event attendance details and payment status. Hosting services may also process technical information such as IP addresses and request logs. Provide only information needed for your request; do not submit banking credentials or other sensitive information through the chatbot.
Purpose and consent
Information is used to process membership applications, confirm eligibility, manage registrations and attendance, reconcile payments, respond to enquiries and communicate about the services you request. Gujarati Community Events seeks consent where required and should explain any additional purpose before using information for it. Browsing this site alone does not authorize unrelated marketing or publication of your personal information.
Cookies and remembered registration
The website uses session cookies for login and registration functions. If you choose “Remember me on this device”, a registration token may remain on that device for up to 90 days. Use this option only on a private device. You can remove cookies in your browser settings; doing so may require you to identify yourself or sign in again.
Service providers and external tools
Hosting, email, translation, chatbot and external registration or payment services may process information needed to provide their functions. Their processing and storage locations depend on the provider. Review their policies before using an external service. An e-Transfer is processed through your financial institution; do not enter online banking passwords on this website.
Access, safeguards and retention
Access should be limited to authorized people and providers who need information for the stated purpose. Reasonable safeguards are necessary, but no internet system is risk-free. Records should be retained only as needed for the stated purposes and applicable recordkeeping requirements, then securely deleted or anonymized. No fixed deletion period is promised by this policy.
Your choices and requests
You may request access to or correction of your personal information, ask about its use, withdraw consent subject to legal or contractual restrictions, or raise a privacy concern. Withdrawing information needed for membership or registration may affect those services. Reasonable identity verification may be required. Contact Gujarati Community Events using the address below and request that your enquiry be directed to the person responsible for privacy.
Privacy concerns
Please contact Gujarati Community Events first so your concern can be considered. You may also contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia at www.oipc.bc.ca. This policy does not limit rights provided by applicable privacy legislation.
